Hey folks, a big time video gamer here. I've been playing SL for about a month and a half now. But there's one thing I've been curious about. Pure PvP aspects. Fighting in other words.
Although I don't accually plan on engaging in any serious duelling or PvP scenarios, I think it would be interesting to watch. But the second question on my mind is... what would make your avatar the ultimate combatant?
By this I mean, what kind of equipment should you have to become most versatile at offense and defense? Whats the best set of equips to wear? ranging from shields, guns, HUD's, the works.
No I wouldn't consider myself a griefer... if I was, I'd be using freebie items/500$ worth only. *Chuckles*

Actually, I've just realised - it's very obvious, so you may gently slap me on the forehead, but only the once - that the new push restrictions can actually be used to prevent people cheating in games by using shields! Well, okay, some shields, the sort that push projectiles, anyway.

How to win in SL's basic combat system Get a credit card, and have absolutely no morals or standards of fair play. Where I come from this is call Munchkinism, in Second life it's called mad skilzorz ju lam3rzor. For safezone combat in gorean RP areas any rapid firing long range weapon will do when combined with excessive bunny hopping, and running away fast. Apparently furries are banned for not existing but infinite ammo, bunny hopping, and fleeing from women is perfectly acceptable since they exist on Gor.... Needless to say I rag on the males constantly for this.

heh.
The gor example is ... interesting. Accurate too.
Anyway, I've been tossing around the idea of a PvP gladiator (melee weapons, no guns/bows) safezone combat thing in my head for a while. RPG type elements, but no lame boxes that clutter around with awkward animations in a small sim to kill for xp, just other people all across SL, any where, any time (who are parcipating in the game, via a combat meter/hud/backpack/what ever).
I can build the equipment, armor, shields and such just fine - but I have very very limited scripting knowledge. Pretty much none.
So, I'm sure the project is too ambitious for me. And I am a bit ... leery of sharing any more information as a partner ship I once had on another project .. is no longer as such. Since they did 'all the work' (scripting) they felt they were entitled to all the profits and cut me out. Interestingly enough, they still use the texture I created for the vendor to sell the item. And the objects I built.
So, until I learn how to do it, I guess it will just be a fantasy in my mind to entertain myself during boring work days.

Step 1: Find a girlfriend. Step 2: Cheat on her. Step 3: Make sure they both find out about each other. SL PVP at it's finest
