Hi all! After months of labor, sweating, and lots and lots of cursing, BRIXX is finally nearing final testing! In the upcoming 1-2 weeks I will be moving BRIXX from being an occasional-event-at-odd-hours to a full, available to the public tournament and single-player game! But for tonight, here's two little teaser pics.... BRIXX - The game board BRIXX - Game in Progress!Interested? Curious? Send me an IM, and I'll send you a copy of the How-To-Play notecard. If you manage to catch me in-world (and if you ask nicely), I might give you a demonstration too! - Newfie "BrixxLayer" Pendragon

I have SOOO enjoyed being allowed to help test this game and can't wait for everyone else to come play. But, none of you need to worry. I sorta suck at it, even with all the practice I've had. It's not just about skill, there's a bit of luck involved as well. Just enough skill to keep it challenging and just enough luck to keep it interesting... and now there will be even more people to enjoy it with!

Yes, I definately enjoyed the ability to play this game at these "odd hour" events (and making some L$ didn't hurt), and Newfie definately made a winner here. Probably one of the few games I have seen that actually take advantage of SL's 3d capabilities as most (including my own) are more or less in 2d still.

Quick update - we now have a gracious host who is putting BRIXX through its final shakedown testing, and is holding near-daily events. The next one will be tonight at 6pm pst, hosted by Adam Marker! Here's your chance to see and experience what BRIXX is all about - you'll be addicted! Event details is here. - Newfie Pendragon

Hi all:
Just a quick update for everyone - our final BRIXX shakedown tests have been going well - if anything, each night is getting better and more popular than the night before! Last night we hit a total of 14 simultaneous players, our largest game yet!
Those of you that were there already know this, but I wanted to keep everyone up-to-date on final shakedown results. Due to SL's famous script memory limitations, the large player turnout last night found one serious problem - the tournament scoreboard simply ran out of memory! There's good news though, I have rewritten the player module from the ground up, and initial testing shows a capacity of up to 30 simultaneous players. Once I've tested it enough that I'm comfortable with the design change, we'll put the new version into use - probably before the weekend is out.
Also by popular demand, I'm looking into putting a score display on individual players' boards, so they can always see their score. Keep an eye open for this in the near future!
Thanks to all who have been playing BRIXX and helping to make it not only a stable and reliable game, but a fun one too!

Sounds promising... Last night definately took a hit on the playability with the 14 players. Have you done any testing in 1.7? I would be interested in the comparable playability between the two SL versions.

Good luck Right now the game is in limited final testing, so the events are being held in the sim of Gerstle. Adam Marker has been generously holding events, but I am also going to be holding one myself Tuesday evening. - Newfie

I had the chance to give BRIXX a try and it was a great and innovative game.

Yup, this game rocks - I'm already hooked. Very neat 3D gameplay and not all random (I.E. while the pieces are selected randomly, it's not like some unmentionable other games where it's 99% up to chance - BRIXX involves a good deal of strategy. I'm still trying to get this mythical 11-piece combo, but end up skreeeewing myself each time I try. )
