Project PET Rpg ... ( need help )

hello.
well, first, im new arround here, so don't piss on me because i don't know some stuffs or just can't understand scripting and/or i'm doing bad creations .... thanks :3 !

okay, there i come, my "project" is the following .... i've seen that cake's option ( like : sit, pay, more, ect ... ) was editable with scripting ( such as sit change to teleport or stand ) , i've seen "unsafe" aera in-game and pets ... that gave me a MASIVE IDEA ... dunno if a idea like this was already posted, i'm too lazzy to read all forums '¬¬ ...

well, here is my idea ... i want to to RPG with PETS or even PLAYERS ... how ? well, if someone can script for me ( i have pretty nothing but i'll pay like 1000L$ for the total scripts, if it's make-eable ), we'll change the cake's menu ( if possible, or we'll do it in the "more" part of the cake ( mean when you click on it, obliviously ... ) and edit all name ) to do comands like "set HP", "set ATK", ect ... to settup all Status on your pet or on you ... After that ( as i say beffore, if it's possible only ) i want to input commands that make the pet move, like "right", "left", "up", "down", ect ... and at last fighting command !! like if they were pokemon they'll do "hyper beam" :p

well, my idea, at the end, is to have a pet that follow you and at anytime that pet can "fight" with other that have same script ...

hum ... but by the way, i think that can be a very good and fun project to do, so i'll ask all voulonteers, scripter, designers or maybe simple spectator of the project to IM me In-Game @ Kuro Vega or Keis Vargas.

i hope the project will please you, and yeah, forget my broken english cauz' i'm french :p

Sadly that kind of click control isn't present in SL. It's been asked for at least once though so who knows, it may come to pass eventually. You'll have to remain content with click/dialog interaction or say/listen interaction (which is basically the same thing).

oh god, an answear !!! *knock out* ( yeah, you're the one who anseared me, i've posted this idea on .... about 15 forums i think ... '^^ ) ... well, that dosen't change my life, if i can't do a cake menu with options ... but i want, at least, a good rpg ... i mean, i'm aware that i'm asking the moon for my first project, but i think if everybody is in that can and that WILL be fun ... anyway i don't know a single tiny thing about scripting ... but yeah, in my mind, it's "simple" ... we do "classes" ( such as warior ( and maybe subdivides it later, like for warrior in paladin or knight ... bref ... ), wizzard, summoner ... or many other idea such as shinobi :p ) so, the "states" of all classes will be "pre-determined", like on a notecard or i dunno what we can do, and you'll have a "skill modify" value, that the player can input ( like you have 20 points, and you can chose to set 2 in atk, 5 in speed, 10 in def and 3 in vitality ). After that i see a "simple" damage calcul ... such as "your atk + your weapon atk ( if you wear a "compatible" weapon ) - enemy's def + enemy's shield ( if any ) ... speed will serve to determine reflexes, vitality is life, Mana for magic users and that's all folk !!! For the Pets, they will be like familiars, so same script as you and maybe with some particle effect for magics/skills ... if we can, we'll input XP too ... in a simple way too, like if you defeat a level 1 opponement and you're level 1, you get 100 xp, ect ... and after that you're even free to "change" that into a turn based duel !!! ( i mean with 90x90 fields, for exemple ) ...

i'm aware that everybody else got his/her own project, but mine sounds good, so i was wondering why no-one seems interessed O.o' ...

You might want to investigate Dark Life or Minerva, they cover the whole class idea. As for controllable pets, that would take a lot of doing and I'm not sure a suitable method of making one (at least, non-flying ones) could exist in SL at this time.

not wanting to piss on your fire or anything, but most scripters wont get out of bed for 1,000. or even 10x that.

Most scripters won't participate in a project like this without a fair share of the ongoing profits and a good deal more than 20k (either lump sum or payment as the project goes on and results appear).

I had this idea (independantly I assure you!) a week ago when I first saw secondlife. I've already got a fairy that hovers beside my head and runs simple errands for me - modelling is my real stumbling block - I just don't have the skills to make little dogs or whatever hahaha. My "fairy" is a miniature ball and a particle effect. She DOES fly - but I don't think it'd be too hard to make her roll on the ground. - right now in my script I specify vertical offset from the ground, so if I left that at zero she'd be on the ground.

If you know of anyone with modelling skills I'd love to partner with them to do this kind of thing - a pet that automatically fights with other pets... you could make upgrade items and parts to give them, award experience, even allow gambling. But I can't make much more than a ball on my own.

Oh and to respond to what a scripter charges - you're right. No way I'd write a script this complicated for $2K. Maybe $20K+, though personally I'd probably be more interested in a royalty arrangement of some sort...

Eckhart Dillon sells pit bulls that bark, growl, sit, stay, fly, have nametags over their heads, follow others, have nice and mean lists and the dogs can change angles of following...you might want to check those out at Galactic Mall.

Oh and they are remote control too.

You could try boosting the aleady created rpg makers in sl, to include designs for pets, i actually had asked in minerva for a pet system upon joining the guilds, but they would act as stat buffs or cure light wounds. As said by others, its complex to do pets in sl, the controls are still way too confineing right now. Give it time, but i like the idea of a pet RPG :) with a HUD interface, you could construct a working pet health bar and stamina and mana if want.

Try working on a few pets in prim that you would like to see. Check out the noob scripts and play with the pet follower, if you need have a few slimer droids your welecome to.

Yes this is not something small. It will be done though, I promise, but for 150k ppl and the bugs and about 100 other variables well, patience grasshopper. ;)
