I was just wondering.

Why haven't there been a Fallout RP SIM established yet? I made a few thoughts and I was concidering starting up such a SIM - but most importantly: Are people interested in Such?

Give your opinion down here in the topic :3

The basic idea:
The area revolves around the area of Texas - which means there will be a lot of sing houses, small town and farms - the area will have 3 Vaults, atleast one Major Wastelander settlement, and scattered small raider camps. Weather the Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel will be present will have to be discussed.

Have you been to the wastelands?
there's about 12 sims of post apocalyptic mess there to play in :)
I've seen a couple of people in Brotherhood of steel armour and one or two vault suits

I have been in favor of this idea for a long time, but I lack the resources to personally undertake it. If you're interested in funding the project, I could probably help with scripting if you're able to wait until after April, when classes end and I'm not constantly swamped with writing deadlines. In fact, if this is something you would be interested in, I have been accumulating ideas for a new combat system that I would be willing to customize for this particular purpose, although we would have to agree on some form of compensation, licensing for the weapon scripts or something of that nature.

I have to ask as well, what are you thinking of that would be significantly different from the wastelands?

I have been to the wastelands numerous times and have yet to find any RP. I was there way back when it was just one sim. and now that its gotten bigger theres still no RP i have seen. the wastelands has always been a resedintial community. i think a sim devoted to fallout Rp would be pretty sweet since thats what the poster was asking. if folks do RP in the wastelands thats based around fallout then let me know i would look into joining it also.

If there's no people doing fallout RP in the wastelands, then maybe there's not that many people interested in doing the kind of fallout RP you want.

Wastelands is more of a living area for people who like to live in a post apocalyptic setting. The same way people like to live in a beach or forest themed community - yet do not roleplay being in Bay Watch or Robin Hood. :p

For any sort of RP community based around Fallout to occur (or any game) you are going to need driving elements that cause people to interact, which is a lot of work when done properly.

It would be nice to see something like this succeed but it is not my interest.

Now, if we are talking Fallout D/s maybe it's worth looking into. :p

There is roleplay there, but like most sl roleplay it's people standing around talking :)
The good thing about wastelands is it's already established and usually relatively busy. I think if you could tack another sim onto it or buy a sizeable plot of land to build a vault on it would fit right in to that ready made world.

oooooo nice idea. Tchos Vault 101 Sealed Wing would be an interesting build.

Wastelands has (or had) a fairly well established role-playing community. The roleplay is all run by the residents, the developers of the wastelands take no part in directing or organizing roleplay. Roleplay is totally up do you, and the drama is all on the communities shoulders. One of the smartest choices I've seen from a large themed estate.

The main developer and founder of the wastelands, Neobokrug Elytis has created a system that you can use to pick up salvage that randomly spawns throughout the wastes. This system is AWESOME. The best part is, is that he's been hard at work creating version 2 of the system. If you've been there lately, you've probably noticed that there are not many people roleplaying. The system is a bit outdated and everyone is anxiously waiting for WLv2 (as they call it). I myself have tested it, and it is by far the best combat system/weapons system/collections system I've ever seen in any sims, roleplay or non.

It'll be a lot of fun. For roleplay though, you may find yourself better suited somewhere else...that is until WLv2 is released. WLv2 should bring a new amount of immersion to the wastelands from what I can tell. Roleplayers will be quite happy :)

And no, I'm not a dev. Just friends with many of them - and a huge fan of the wastelands.
