I must be missing something here. I just bought one of the legal timed sploders, which pays out to the last person who enters the comp before the timer counts down.
So far so good.

But it needs three people to enter before the timer starts.
Who is going to enter BEFORE the timer starts when they have no chance of winning??
It is set to a minimum of 3 entrants.

Yeah, when you say legal, what does that mean...

Who says it's legal, the developer. To my knowledge, the only thing the Lindens have done to authorize or deem a game legal is not return it to the owner. But I have seen blackjack tables and roulette tables in world just yesterday so obviously they haven't gotten to every game or location.

I know my game has gotten some mixed reviews from some who feel it is still gambling ( and I disagree) but I would say the sploder you speak of is really on the borderline. But who am I, until I am running Linden Labs, it's not up for me to say...

As far as your question about who would be the first to play a three minimum person play sploder? The dumb or the owner I would say. The most popular sploders (using the sploder HUD as a tool) were always sploders that were being fed by the venue owner to draw people to their club or mall or whatever. So, I'd say you will be the first person to play a three person minimum sploder.
