The best three SL-only games that Hamlet *has* to mention in an article are...

I'm doing a write-up on the game scene in SL for a big magazine, and while I have a pretty good handle on what's out there, I want to make sure I don't miss any obscure cult hits that deserve some attention. If you got nominations, please post here ASAP! Must be original to SL (no remakes, etc.), and already on the market. Bonus points for leveraging building tools and other unique features of Second Life. (If you prefer to nominate anonymously, IM/PM me, or e-mail hamlet@secondlife.com.)

I nominate SPOT MATRIX - although i'm slightly biased since I wrote it :-)

But it is an SL exclusive, it is on the market, and it is gaining in popularity!

Take a look at Keiki Lemieux' Wizardry - great fun and very strategic for such a small set of options. Not directly derived from any RL games, I don't think :)

I nominate Tech Warfare, though I expect you're probably well aware of it already.

I'll make my obligitory mention of Holoball, even though I'm not running much in the way of events, it still gets a fair bit of play from passerby in Suffugium.

Holoball (^_^)b

Waited forever for it to come back, and now it's back, i've never ever met someone who didn't feel like they got way more then their money's worth :p.

It's a really really unique game, impossible to exist outside of SL. It saves people from boredom! Brought 7newbies to it tonight :) there's nothing like the glint of joy in the eye of a newbie when they find a new awesome game :)

By 'on the market' you mean games that are playable or for sale so you can run your own copy?

If the former, then BombBots is 100% multiplayer complete, just some minor bugfixes and singleplayer stuff to complete before I start selling copies.

Granted I'm in the process of porting it out of SL so in 3-4 months or so it will no longer be SL 'exclusive'.
