Hiya When I was a little younger than I am now I was totally addicted to this: Where are the script geniusses to rebuild BLOCKOUT in all its glory? SL should be perfect for playing it in multiplayer mode! Moving the camera around colorful blockout prims should be great fun. And since it is all about skill you could play for *money*! Anyone?

Ah yes Tetris.. loved going head to head with someone on that.
The only issue I see might be the number of prims it'd take (for all the blocks) for each game session.
Also Tringo is kinda similar to Tetris if you haven't played it yet.

Making a remake of Tetris is dangerous, because if you do, you'll be sued by the Tetris Company. Tetris isn't patented, so nobody is sure if they actually have good grounds for their lawsuits or not - but if you haven't got the time and money to mount a legal defense, you won't be finding out (and the answer might turn out to be that they have).

True, you cant call it "Tetris" but there are many many games with different names that are exact copies of Tetris.

Oh LOL not bad Is there a place where you can actually play it? It's 2d though. I think Blockout would just have too many prims to be useful on any regular sim.

Uh oh! ...But there's random number generators when generating the random blocks! I guess Tetris is gambling now!

I don`t think so.. you need to have skills to win.

I cleaned up my version of ahem.. falling tetrominos and put it up for sale http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=364755You can see you don't need 200 prims to do the game in two dimensions. Three would be a lot harder; if you did a 10x10x20 game field that would be almost 2000 prims...

From: Wrager Creeley I wonder how is it 3D if it was(and is) a DOS game! Uhh, that pic was a variant called Welltris (well, one variant of Welltris)... hated that version myself, you couldn't see where that empty hole was locking the lower layer until you uncovered it so you'd end up stacking even 'more' on top of it
