Ok after getting some testing done I'm proud to release my baby into the wild. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Junghee/171/102//?x=400&y=400&img=http://www.drakkheim.com/temp/bbl.gif&title=BombBots BombBots is a real-time strategic multiplayer board game. Using the command console you enter commands for you bots and attempt to knock the other players out of the game. I've made a 2 minute rough video overview /tutorial of the game that's available (its available on the roof) Feedback more than welcome.

I just ran into this place about 30 mins ago as I was roaming around the area. Alias gave me a demonstration of it and I must say, it rocked! Go check it out!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Means a lot to me and my sanity. Had a mini tournament/testing session yesterday. People came. People Played. I gave away cash. Good times. I had a lot of fun and got a TON of excellent feedback & suggestions so a massive thanks to the guys who have helped me test and play. So here's my pseudo worklog so I can keep track of what's left to do... (you can stop reading now unless you really want to be bored.) - I got some great feedback on the interface and may work in a hud instead of the consoles but I'm not really a fan of the huds as they prevent people passing by from jumping into a game. So I may just rework the command console a bit.
- It was pretty much agreed that the pacing was a little fast so I've slowed down all the speed settings. (its adjustable on the scoreboard)
- Found a couple potential bugs so the command console buttons may get throttled a bit to prevent too many bots and thus avoiding my prim limit.
- The board is a bit too open so im going to put in some random obstacles.
- The scoreboard joining mechanism confuses people so Individual consoles will get a join button as well.
That should keep me busy for a bit

New blog and update
06-19-2006 11:13
Well things are really coming along. All the changes mentioned earlier are done... I started a dev-blog where I can keep track of progress and features etc.. availab at http://bombbots.blogspot.com/ for those who're into that kinda thing. That way I can stop cluttering these forums.. The game dynamic really changed with the speed slowdown, much more strategic thinking required now. I'm having a hard time getting the basics across quickly. Anyone have issues explaining the rules of their game?? Suggestions welcome.. I've got a dense game and its a lot of information to digest but once you play a game or 2 it 'clicks' I want to make it easier to just walk in and start playing. (this becomes critical when i get single player functionality in the game) So I plan on placing some quickstart boards tonight and a notecard giver you can click for the complete rules. I plan on running a tournament tomorrow and see if that makes it easier for people to get the hang of it quickly.

Gonna try and run a tournament tonight: http://secondlife.com/events/event.php?id=234677&date=1150848000 No entrance fee to play, 500L for the winner 200 for the runner up. I'll be soliciting a final round of feedback before I hunker down and do all the boring code for security and implementing money transactions and deployment, so other people can buy a copy of it if they want.
