Ok, this is my idea. I want to create a innovative conspiracy storybased ARG in SL. For a description what ARG means, please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_Reality_Game

The story would be something like DAN BROWN's "DA Vinci Code" or similiar. Maybe a whole other story. The storyline is open and not fixed.

The ARG game will be take place in the virtual and real world. It will be covered many different media's like Email, Podcast, Onlinevideo, FAX, SMS and other medias.

The Player would have problems to see the different between virtual and real world. The line will blurr and he wont know if the people next to him are his friends or player from the "other side". The player has to decode messages, find hidden information, step by step he getting more information to finish the game. The player will also have a way to communicate with other players. But maybe some of the others are there to give false information, to confuse the player. Maybe they part of the game :-) Real companies with real information aswell as faked companies with faked information. Who is real, whos not?

Maybe we can get some sponsoring companies to provide prizes for the winner of the game. The game would be run in episodes. Each day a new small hint, clue that helps the player to complete the game, to find the murder, finish the game.

If the pre-game runs good and people like the game and idea we might can get to a second stage. I spoke with a senior marketing guy from Endemol Entertainment (American Idol, Bigbrother e.g.) and they are interested into a cross-media game concept. I think SL is the perfect platform to be one of the used medias.

This could bring many new player to SL.

The production team will have access to groupware, organisation management software online. We will use the latest tech like skype, streamed media and other assets to combine our creativity.

The production will take time, since the quiz must be clever and not easy to finish. It must, aswell, bound the player to the game. I worked for EA in the past and was senior advisor for MAJESTIC, the first ARG ever, currently iam Art Director in Advertising.

My goal is that the game will be based 60% in SL and 40% internet and other medias. The other media is needed to blurr lines between virtual and real world.

Okay, thats all. If you interested please post your name beneath this posting. Ideas, Critics are aswell welcome :o

Thank you

If you are looking for players of this "GAME" I would certainly be interested. It sounds interesting to just "PLAY" it. Something to be a part of. This would most defanitly peek my interest. Sounds like much fun even if one doesn't "WIN"!

Just incase you haven't heard of/aren't familiar with it, something similar was done for last years game dev competition:

And it was a lot of fun. Ironically, it came right before the "free basic account" thing, and a lot of it took place through the net and other venues outside of SL (like maybe 20% inside SL if that, and the rest was e-mail, websites, ect.)
