Hi there,

I have written a program that gives online friends info without being logged into the SL. This is similar to the info provided on the website. I wrote it because it works in the background without needing refreshing and so on. Plus, I can add other features related to account management and friends tracking if the basics work out. I am looking for a few people who will try the app and provide helpful comments. Please document ANY program behavior that seems odd, or unMaclike. This is not a public release, but I think it works well enough for public testing. I have MacOS 10.5.8 (Leopard) and a MacBook Pro dualcore 2.2 GHZ. Its only been tested on that machine so far, so any comments will be helpful. I have not compiled it yet for MacPPC, sorry. I can, but would like to get this version working well first. Please download at http://www.debruyere.com/SecondSight/. Provide feedback here, or to me at techsupport@debruyere.com.

Thanks,

Anna

Send a request for a universal build to techsupport@debruyere.com and you can possibly get an alpha.

Testing on a macbook pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 10.5.8. The only glitch is that I set it to remember my login info and sign in automatically. When I launch it, it gives an error "Invalid username and / or password, please try again." When I click OK it logs in. I have been running it all week while at work and no other issues at all.

Hey all thanks for the great feedback. I solved the issues you mentioned. Should have a full and free base version by December. Then I can start adding really fun features. Anna.

Heya! The website for updates is http://www.debruyere.com/SecondSight/index.html at the moment. I added Sparkle updates to the app, which means it will prompt you for auto-updates in the future.

Hi Anna, I tried using the submit bug form, but it didn't work, so I'll just paste what I had there. I'm using an Intel Mac with Snow Leopard.

-------

On launch it says:

An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down.

I did install Growl and left its prefs as the default.

Looks like a neat app!

I have a MacBook Pro and am willing to test. I have two similar utilities and can give you comparisons. It would be nice if this allowed access to alternate grids as well.
