'Last logged in' time in Profiles.

Just a small feature request (I apologize if this is in the wrong forum), but adding in a time in profiles of when the person last logged off would be nice.

This would be a good feature. I've thought about it alot myself. I always look up profiles of friends to see when they were on last hoping it was added in an update. I never know if I missed them or if they just havnt been on in a while. Its a definate plus to have.

They definately save this info, and you can view it. If you go to a group info page, and jump to the "Members" tab it shows the last day they were avaliable.

But yes, it should be in the profile, and there also should be a time.

This is one feature I would also like to see. I'm sure that others that are my friends or just my contacts as well might like to know if/when they happened to miss me also. This would be a defanite PLUS!

Thanks for the support, guys. This shouldn't be hard at all to put into the next update. We need more votes for this! Let it be heard so the developers can put in the time (If any ) to put in this small feature.

I put in a feature request for the same thing back in late 2004.. This would be really usefull to have.

Here's something to consider: isn't it weird when the New Instant Messaging window is opened wide, and it shows (online) for Friends who are, but it's blank on the right past that? Looks like more conceivably nifty info could be put there.

I'm also curious... where exactly could you foresee "Last logged in:" going? Maybe a modification of the existing "Online:" field? Got any UI mockup pictures you want to share?

Its 6am, I used microsoft paint, and I had to use your RezDay for your LLI (Last Logged In) Date because I couldn't be bothered to find more numbers, but..

Thanx--HAHA nice image name! That's pretty clear, although the "-LLI-" isn't the most elegant approach. The field is short but maybe "Last login" or "Last on" would work. Any other suggestions?

Actually, I think the way it is right there in Zapoteth's pic is just fine. That should do well enuff. I wouldn't think it would have to be too elaberate. Just so we'd know when they last were on if they aren't.

Well it only took two minutes, and in my imagination is where it'd be located, there probably would be room for "Last Login:" if you weren't using the copy function from microsoft paint

Just tried it, and I JUST ran out of room.. They might be able to do it though.

Torley, what a highly useful amount of letters you have in your profile I swear you've got the whole alphabet..

Maybe they could resize the ratings box to re-align with the profile picture (as I doubt anyone will get enough ratings to pass it) and add some more boxes for whatever needed..

Or someone else suggested a mouse over box, so when your mouse is left over a profile a box pops up saying when the person last logged on..

Well Zapoteth, that seems like a perfect place to put the LLI. Shame there isn't enough room to put in the SL time of when that person logged off as well.

I think if there's just some wiggling around done, it could space out fine. Hey, I bet there are peeps reading this who want it who haven't posted--and who's started a vote proposal?

Would it not be so much easier to just change the name of the field from "Online" to "Last Log In"? If the person is online the field returns "online" and if not it returns the date of their last log in?

While this may be a good option, there should also be the option of having this unviewable to public. Some people don't want this option, hence removing from people from your friends list. Personally I don't care either way but have a friend that this may bother.

I agree with both of your suggestions. They both seem to make sense and fix some confusion. Changing the online field to "Last logged in" is logical. That extra bit of privacy for disabling your own LLI status is good too, though you could always give your friend your calling card instead of tossing him/her into your friends list .

If that person is online right now it will replace the date with the word NOW.

Actually Yiffy, I think that it looks good and would do just fine! You'd get no complains from me on that one at all!

This isn't a bad idea, actually. As long as someone is an officer of a group, you can get this information today anyway. You just have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it.

What I'd like to see:

-Display Last Login Time in our Profiles

-Allow us to login "Invisible to Chat" if we choose - and have that NOT stamp the last login time

i didnt have to even resize the profile window. All i did was remove that gap at the bottom. that made plenty of room to move stuff around. ;p

BTW, I follow things like this and bridge them with other Lindens to see how viable it is. While I like the clean, simple ideas, it's always important to take into account how they balance with other features, like the very valid points Travis brought up, should "show as offline" be a possibility, and what Spinner said about the social ramifications.
