Help I can't get in SL

I have tried and tried since the update 1.8 and I can't get in my fire walls are not the problem I try to log in and I get stuck at connecting to region and I have sat there and waited and waited and waited yet other people in the game can see me and all I see is black screen with the porgress bar and I see it Stick So if anyne has Any info that could possibly help me that would be great.

Boycot the spam farms and the ads on them. Ban the spamers from your land. Look for the clocktower network for a blacklist to put on you land that is grid wide.

Were you guys able to resolve this? Because I had the same issue this morning, where it looks like I was logging on just fine, but when the status bar gets to "connecting to region" it just hangs. What I finally did was change a setting in the preferences (from the logon screen) that makes you show up at your Home location instead of your last known location when you log in. I've forgotten the exact wording of the setting (I'm at work and can't check it here), but after changing it to have me show up at "Home", I was able to connect like it was all just a bad dream. :)
Some backstory: Yesterday when I logged out, it was after a very odd teleport where the sim I was going to only partially rezzed (maybe it went down during my TP?). I was TP-ing home, intending to disconnect, so after several minutes with nothing showing up but the basic terrain texture, I gave up and disconnected. Oddly, though, I was able to continue an IM conversation I'd been in the midst of before TP-ing. Very surreal.
