We need your help in 1.9.0 Preview!

A problem exists in which avatars occasionally get pinned (in other words, are unable to move) yet they are still able to chat and interact with other people. We need your help finding the cause for this.

If you notice your avatar has been pinned, please enter a bug from the Help menu stating that you are pinned. Be sure to list what events happened in the 10 seconds before you became pinned -- things such as "I created an object," "someone teleported away," "someone arrived near me" are all really helpful!

I don't know if you can call this a problem with 1.9 as I get this a few times a week with 1.8

I can attest to that. Mac OSX with SL 1.8.x, I get stuck minimum three four times a week, the only cure for it is a restart of the App. Can do anything and everything except move.

Yes, I get the same thing in 1.8.x

I just try to live with things though but I guess from now on we should just send the bug reports? This has been an issue for quite some time. I just never really worried about it that much as it doesn't happen everyday. But, it does happen enough in 1.8.x to warrent a bug report I guess. So next time I will be sure to send one. However usually but not always it will happen while I am building.

This happens to me on the main grid, even just last night, and used to happen last year. It got a lot less common, but I noticed it happens to me more often again now since I added a gig of RAM to my system. Seems to me that it happens or is more likely to happen when I'm in an area where a lot of stuff has to be rendered, especially when I've just teleported. I get this sometimes instead of the overall-molasseslike response I would have had before I added the RAM. I do get unpinned eventually, without having to relog -- how long this takes varies, but it's usually just a minute or two. Sorry I didn't bug report this last night, but I figured it must be a known issue by now.

Happens to me too, but no obvious connection, hasn't happened recently (*fingers crossed*) though I haven't been SL a whole lot lately.

Anyway, sitting on a sit target enabled object (e.g a poseball) fixes it for me most of the time.

I have seen it when adjusting a teleport script locus that mistakenly results in a landing point below the ground.

I've had this happen to me several times when aborting a teleport in 1.8. In fact, possibly every time I've aborted a teleport.
