Getting sick of all these new features and yet old bugs (and new bugs from new features!) not getting fixed! What is the logic behind this, LL? IS there a logic behind this?

I'm inclined to agree to a certain extent (based on criticality of new feature versus criticality of bug fix).

Just an observation, but alot of this is brought on by us the players. We ask for alot, like is normal in any MMO, however they need to prioritize things somehow. You cannot really expect them to create and release a bugfix if they are 94% completed an older, more thought out release which tends to label many of LL's updates.

Well, I agree that we demand a lot - but I think that being able to make my av move is a pretty basic request. Ever since the last upgrade, Salzie seems to be stuck in place regardless of which sim she is in.

It is very important to realize how much there is to work with when updating a client/server multiverse such as SL. To fix some of the bugs, some features will be added/removed/modified. Sometimes, these modifications can cause a bug with something else. One of the things that will happen with software development, is that new features that relate to existing buggy code will contain the bug-fixes. And no matter how much the code is tested, there is always the chance of creating another bug. This is the way of live client/server multi-user software development. I would simply recommend that we all report the bugs as we find them, be as descriptive as possible, and let the development team do their jobs. They are under a lot of pressure to keep 150k people happy... and believe me... they want you happy. Besides... I come from a more traditional MMO background... and believe me... SL is pretty stable.

I went to Release notes for 1.9 preview and this is the break down of the changes:
Beta 4 They added 4 new LSL functions, 1 new way for the sims to talk and estate tools for a total of 10 items.
Beta 7 4 new features, 18 bug fixes
Beta 8 2 new features, 7 bug fixes
Beta 9 2 new features, 11 bug fixes
Beta 10 1 new feature, 29 bug fixes
Beta 11 0 new features, 4 bug fixes
Some of those bug fixes are 1.9 bug fixes, but most of them are old bugs being fixed.

Well, I'm not sure how many bugs are left, but I think main focus rather than new things should be on improving new things, which 1.9 seems (in part) to be doing.
There are still very commonly used parts of the game that could do with improvement though, things like land permissions for privacy etc., LSL is really quite unusual, some functions have odd and unusual restrictions, many things are just backwards.
I'm hoping over the new few major releases the things that will be changing are things we already have but which could be improved, I'm hoping for fixed local lighting, mono instead of LSL, better privacy controls for land (suggested loads for these) as well as various other things to improve overall performance like more advanced caching systems to reduce internet lag (and let up on those with lower-end broadband connection, my 1mbps still feels quite slow just visiting two places (I rarely go outside of these two places lately, yet I have to reload them every time I TP).
Nothing new, unless it's a new replacement to improve something old =)
