I would like to test some land editing tools in the preview. I couldn't find any editable land or any that could be bought.

Most of the land in balance owned by me should be editable, except the section of raised land near oakgrove which is set to allow damage.

There is some land for purchase, according to the Find dialog Land Sales tab.
However the buy function is not working Attempting to buy produces the following error message: Cannot buy now: There has been an error while fetching land buying information. DNS could not resolve the host name. Please verify that you can connect to the www.secondlife.com web site. If you can, but continue to receive this error, please go to the support section and report this problem. _____________________

Yes should be I just tried to edit some land in preview Balance and got a message that said "The region Balance does not allow terraforming. You will need to buy land in another part of the world to terraform it." _____________________

I can't find any editable land

What is the objection to letting land be editable in a preview test area anyway?
This all seems a little silly to me. No land for sale, no editing, most of the preview grid protected against object creation. |

Land will not be available for sale in preview 1.9

With a recent merge to the main grid code base, the new land and currency purchasing feature has found its way into the preview grid, where the infrastructure only exists at this time for Lindens to test it.
I can try to set aside some larger areas for publicly editable terrain and object creation - my apologies for not being able to fit this in yet. Thank you for your understanding - I am looking into re-enabling this capacity in future previews. |
