The preview grid uses a different userserver then the main grid. Before LL opens the preview grid for the general public they they take a copy of the main grid's userserver. You joined after the userserver was copied. I'm sorry to say you probably will be unable to log into preview 1.9; unless LL decides to recopy the userserver. In the past LL has never recopied the userserver during a preview.
