Attached are some screenshots I took while driving around SL and sinking into the road at Sim borders. I included the UI chrome so you can see the region and co-ordinates as requested.

EDIT: OK, there's a maximum of 5 shots per posting so I'll have to make multiple posts.

I have another question about the roadways in SL which is: why are they all set to no-build? It really makes it a pain in the butt to rez a vehicle. You have to find a resident-owned parcel nearby to rez and hopefully you can drive onto the road, or you have to go into edit more to position the vehicle, which is almost impossible for n00bs. You also can't make a landmark for some reason. When you try it says "the land owner does not allow it". I can't think of any reason the facility to deny creation of landmarks should exist in SL at all, let alone be set on 'public' roads.

While I'm here, what is the linden policy on user-created objects overlapping the road. I'm thinking primarily of signage, but there are also home-make off ramps, bridges and even whole sections of buildings over the road in places. If it is allowed, is there a minmum height above the road so as not to block tall vehicles, etc. ? If it isn't allowed to build stuff over 'protected land' why is it allowed? I could abuse report every instance, but it's not exactly difficult to find yourself.

Okay, I'll get on all of these sites right now. To answer your questions it is set no build because all telehubs (where most people have to go to anyway unless they are teleport and wandering) are set with a ressing area.

Why it's no build, I'm not really sure - it's just been decided by the powers that be that it.. should be!

As for landmarking, same thing.

Building over roads is alright except signage would not be very cool and definitely would get you the wrong kind of attention. Buildings, ramps, bridges aren't such a huge issue as long as the parent (yellow aura when you're editting a linked object) prim is on your land. Height-wise there is is one rule, but bear in mind people can make all sorts of differently sized vehicles. Good rule of thumb is go for at least 10m high.

Hope this helps!
