hi there, i need some help!! i just bought this gorgeous waterfront land, and someone came along and bought the land to the left of me and built someting in the water. nothing on the actual land whatsoever. the neighbors are all outraged of course, and i'm offering to buy it from them to alleviate the problem. of course they jack up the price from $13L to $14L a m. it's a 5120 m piece. i'm considering going for it anyway, but then also realizing the land on the right of me is also for sale. the gal gives me her word she won't just go and buy that land as well and force me into another purchase and says she will write a promise on a notecard and give it to me. does this sound fishy to anyone else? is it possible that such a simple sort of contract could actually be upheld?

thanks in advance, Eolande Elvehjem
