First, I want to say that I'm a relative newbie to SL, having just started less than two weeks ago, so forgive me if I've asked something that's been asked about a zillion times before...

But seriously, what's up with Shermerville? Me and my roommate were just exploring around, and he says "Hey, I've found happy creepy suburb-land!" so we zoom over there to check it out. What strikes me as strange is that all of the houses have 'sold' signs in front of them, but almost none of the houses have anything in them! It was a freakin' ghost town! And curiously, most of them were owned by Governor Linden! We ran into one person, who claimed to be a resident, who was surprised to see us, referring to the neighborhood as a 'wasteland'...

So just what _IS_ Shermerville? Is it a new newbie area designed to clamp down on the speculation of the land barons? Or is it designed to put the kibosh on the architecural indigestion that is the 'new land' areas? What's up?

Hello Malin,

Shermerville was created for basic members to have a taste of what it is like to own land. If they found it was something they wanted to do with their Second Life, the opportunity was there for them to purchase the land and upgrade their accounts.

The reason why Governor Linden owns alot would be the land that residents didnt purchase within the time limit given for the Shermerville regions.

I hope this answers your question.

Cheers
Nicole
