I would like to know just who in the heck at Linden Labs is supervising the dimwits who parcel water rights in SL? I have a parcel In Clearwing wherein the land belongs to Clearwing SIM and the water rights to Lomicarae. Of course, that's no problem when Gov Linden owns the Portected Area that is the water shorefront for Clearwing. However, when LL gets greedy and sells off the Protected Area ( hello, Governor: PROTECTED AREA! ) so that a new buyer can obliterate the Clearwing shoreline, I think its time to check what's in the Governor's pipe. Whoever does the surveying at LL should check RL guidelines for water rights in front of shoreline property. With LL having the ability to create as much land as it wants to sell, there is absolutley no justification for eliminating the buffer water protected areas that were a consideration of the orignal purchase decision. Just as in RL, the 'government' (LL) should own the water and the land under it to keep SL beautiful and prevent misuse of natural beauty. Why in the blazes would you want to eliminate that? It's just plain stupid.

Just a little follow-up, and some thoughts:

I'm not exactly clear how protected land ended up sold - by the name it is supposed to be left alone, it is supposed to be a given that it remains untouched save by Linden hands and even then I make very sure that the end result is one that is asthetic and one I can be proud of. My work is on constant display to countless people that will never really know it, and no matter how small it may be, I will get the job done right.

It's come to my attention that what might be labeled protected land could be a byproduct of not double checking the names after they are originally parcelled to be sure that people aren't given false pretense of a "buffer zone" on water areas or any other protected parcels for that matter.

I'm personally taking responsibility for this one, since I do most of the prepwork to get sims ready for auctioning and it's entirely possible I screwed up by not catching the name. While I know that's little comfort to you now, I can guarantee it won't be happening in the future.

I will however ask you to not post this forum with name-calling or negative titles when you write in the future; I understand you are frustrated and have every right to be. I am here to assist the residents and do a good job at a job I love doing. If anyone posts here and calls either myself or my coworkers names, I will report them - SL residents and LL employees alike have that option. A modicum of respect can get us all very far in this world. I respect your concerns, and I hope you will mine in return.

Thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts on this matter, and I look forward to assisting you with future questions.
