First Land availability

Hello, I've just arrived here, and I'm looking for a place to set up my laboratory. However, when I use the 'Find' function of my SLV and attach the appropriate filters, I receive a message saying that there are no plots available. I find this fairly disturbing, especially as I was standing in an area marked as 'First Land' owned by Governor Linden. I attempted to reach the Gov., and his (her?) aides sent me here for assistance.

The specific plot of land is not important, any will do. Hopefully someplace out of the way in case any, ah, incidents occur. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your concern. We do try to put out as must First Land as we possibly can per week, but demand isn't keeping up with supply, no matter what our efforts. I apologize that you must wait, but that is about the only option at this point. We will continue to release First Land on a weekly (and sometimes even more often than that) basis.

If a former piece of First Land is owned by Governor Linden, the likely scenario is that it was actually purchased by a resident but they have since left Second Life; eventually this will be returned for the use of new residents, but a certain period of time must be observed before this can happen.
