because LL doesn't want people to play anymore, they want you to quit so they can take your 10 bucks and invest it in a new neopets game.....

wasn't everybody yelling bring back 1.4 when 1.5 came out? give it a few days and the Linden fairy will make it all better. anyways just cause you're having a problem or don't like something doesn't necessarily mean 1) it's really broken or 2) it's happening to other people or 3) it's not just your opinion about how you'd like it. yeah there's real problems but 1.6 is better than 1.5 and the building tools (aside from bugs they're fixiing) are like 100 times better. relax.

It's all a matter of opinion and it depends heavily on your building style. If you're not used to working with grid. The new grid will probably offer you a much more intuitive way of building than the old gird.
Same with the 'edit linked objects'. It is a much more intuitive way to use linked prims.

Fact is though that a lot of experienced builders knew about the problems of the old building tools, and developed ways to circumvent these issues. In the long run, a lot of them became very proficient with using the 'limited tools'.
For the group of people who have learned and became very proficient with the 'old tools', the new tools feel like a huge step back. Not only because the tools have changed. But for some builders essential options/tools have disappeared or have been modified in such a way they can no longer be used for the same purposes.

I understand LL trying to create a better and much more intuitive set of building tools. I just wish they would have realized the huge effect it has on the small/large (?) group of experienced builders who now feel like they've been robbed of their skills.

Except for some outcries of frustration (this really is a big thing for me.) I think LL should reconsider their old userbase, and at least offer some of the old methods optionally.
I'm afraid though, that the interface changed on such a fundamental level that this would require a rebuild.

I just hope LL understands how big an issue this is for some of the builders.

Introducing 1.6 has been one of the most flawless, smooth entrances of a new version since... I don't even know when.

I can't believe people would dare compare 1.6 to the travesty that was 1.5 when it came out.

Everything is fine, I don't know why people are so upset this time around...

I've sent in five bug reports in the last hour. But it's probably better to wait for the first few updates to come. The ride hasn't been as flawless for everyone.

The issues mentioned aren't related to bugs though, but to elements of a user interface that were purposefully altered to give a smoother building experience, though leaving a minority of builders to rethink and radically change their way of building.
