If you have an inventory search currently filtering your inventory view and you go to create a new folder, script, note, or gesture from the Create menu (or create a new item from the context menu) it doesn't appear that anything new was added since the inventory view is still being filtered.

Perhaps some sort of notification can be given to the user to let them know the inventory resource was created (and maybe that they need to switch out of filtered view to see it)?
