Weird 1.6.2 Snapshot Behavior

I don't know if this is just me, or if this was a deliberate change to 1.6.2, but since upgrading when I go to take a snapshot, and use the Snapshot to Disk option, I get presented with the usual dialog of where I want to save the file and what to call it. However, subsequent snapshots don't ask me this, they just assume the same place and name, adding 001, 002, 003, etc to the filename. This seems to persist until I restart Second Life, rinse, repeat. If this was deliberate, PLEASE change it back. If not, any suggestions on why it's doing this?

Snapshots to disk have always had that behavior for me, since I started logging on with version 1.5.5. At this point, I'm completely used to the behavior, and I depend on it to work that way. The first snapshot I take, I can make sure I'm putting everything in the correct folder, and for the rest of my SL session, I can just happily smack the backtick (`) key to throw snapshots at that directory.

Sorry to hear that the behavior changed from what you're used to, though. Little things like this are enough to drive one completely bonkers. :)

Hmm..
to my knowledge 1.5 had the same behaviour.

This system has the advantage that you can shoot "series" of pictures rather easily, and it is not too hard to rename them on the harddrive when you shut down SL.

So, has it's advantages and disadvantages, but I think there are more pressing issues to address for now :)

Weird, maybe I just never took enough disk snapshots in a row to notice. Is there a timeout period? Like, half an hour after the first one it assumes you're not taking anymore for that series anymore? It'd be nice if there was an option on using this behavior.

Nope, no timeout, but it resets when you log out of SL. If you quit SL and restart it, you'll be prompted for location again with your first snapshot.

I've been here since 1.2 it's always been like this (cept we didn't use to have the snapshot window).
