And trying to start the program, I get a brief popup that says something like "Your settings have been determined by us to be perfect" and then everything crashes.
I've reloaded the program twice since, and still have this issue. Everything happens so fast that I can't even read the popup command fully before the program is ....

Forget 1.14. It seems to be buggy - at least for XP and Vista.
Go back to 1.13. http://s3.amazonaws.com/download-secondlife-com/Second%20Life%201-13-3-2%20Setup.exe You will have to put up with the annoying beg screen wanting you to install 1.14, but just hit continue and run 1.13. _____________________

It would be good if everyone that is still needing version 1.13 would try the Aditi Beta grid's latest version, making sure to have the crash reporter turned on, and to file bug reports with the inworld bug reporter.
There is a mandatory viewer upgrade scheduled for Wednesday. The more folks that go to the Aditi Beta and have problems, send crash reports, and file bug reports, the better the chance the problems will get fixed before the upgrade is deployed. When 1.15 arrives there will be changes on the backend that will make upgrading to 1.15 mandatory. The trick of using an old version won't work when that happens. _____________________
