chat bubbles turn OFF the default text appearing in lower left corner, and instead puts it under the AV's name.

You must have the AV onscreen to hear them, or very near the edge, in which case the bubble floats at edge of screen.

Daniel Linden believed that should happen always, even when people behind you, but I did not see that behavior.

I'd like it it could toggle the lower-left-corner text, would like to have both (not that chat History works as normal).

windows (such as World Map) block chat bubbles.

LL admits that the chat bubbles are bugged...they're not ready for prime time.

I agree, if you have chat bubbles on there should be at least an option to also have the text appear in the lower-left as usual and/or in Chat History.

Having to pop into the prefs window to de/activate chat bubbles is too many steps. There should be a menu command with a shortcut key, so I can toggle them on/off quickly.

Also, some way to indicate temporal sequence would be nice. Maybe fading colors, or Z-order or something.

Text appeared in chat history with bubbles turned on when I was in tonight.

But I still hate chat bubbles.

It was a nice idea, but just makes it very hard to follow a conversation, especially if someone is behind you.

Some more "Chat bubble" conversation is going on in the "name bubble" thread that might be of interest to anyone following this thread.
