Last few days packet loss has been in the red even at off peak times. Im used to dealing with it at peak times but right now its 24/7 along with this im experiencing failed tp's , ruthed avatar, attatchments floating off my avatar and others around me. Something tells me this has to do with the european routing problem that is supposedly "cleared for now" well LL i just want to let you know its not cleared or "Resolved" this is as bad as its got and wow its been bad and ive stuck through it currently SL is pointless please own up and sort it out.

Is this just in one sim or everywhere you go?
Watch the ping user/ping sim stats for a minute.. Are they bouncing all over or are they pretty much steady? What kind of numbers are you seeing? _____________________

Hi, I made this post(s) to a thread, it talks about basics of setting up your PC and goes on to talk about contention ratios.

SL has been experiencing a lot of network (or network component) lag lately, which I believe to be due to the sheer number of people online. The network just doesn't seem able to handle the number of people we have lately, as we hit 30,000+ and go as high as 40,000, at least that I've seen, it may go higher!
Simulators will be working away quite happily, scripts responding at lightning speed, heck, simulators themselves are performing better than I've seen them perform in a while now, the client is nice and zippy, but the information just isn't travelling between the two fast enough anymore, resulting in huge amount of lag between two perfectly functioning machines. It's a shame really as it means that now that the code is actually performing really well at both ends, the space in between is fraught with problems due to the rapidly growing demand. _____________________

Could be but I've been hearing that ever since I joined - the grid can't handle 9k online at once, then 10k then 12k then 15k, etc, etc.. Not saying that they haven't hit saturation, just that people have said it a number of times before. _____________________

The grid is growing to accommodate more as LL reduce the number of saturation points (database servers etc.) by distributing them out. But it still isn't growing fast enough, I think that part of the main problem is the sheer quantity of free accounts versus premiums, how many people aren't really paying for the bandwidth and other resources they're using up? How many of them COULD but won't bother because they see no reason to?
If we had a higher percentage of premium accounts then there would at least be more money coming in per person to pay for the bandwidth per-person. As it stands I expect we're LOSING premium accounts, a number of my friends who were premiums but no longer own land (either because they don't need to or have moved to rental land) are no longer premium members at all because there's no obvious reason to, we don't get any better service. Free accounts the same resources we do, and the result is that everyone is suffering with the huge number of them. _____________________

ive been experiencing weird packet loss issues lately. Chat that when typed just doesnt make it up onto the screen, or if it does, takes a while. Had problems like this when using wireless setups, but Im on a hardline now.
