Wouldn't it be better to create a temporary 'Town Hall' forum where people can post questions?.
Why do we have to roleplay a disgruntled mob dressed in gray?

Why do we have to roleplay a disguntled mob dressed in gray? Yup, the lag is gonna be a killer and I greatly fear many important points are going to get lost in the crowd. They should have just been reading the forums from the start, there would have been no need for openletter or the townhall. Maybe change is coming soon.... Vale

And it's completely not helpful for those of us who have been unable to log in since the update.

This is why I would prefer an audio format. Sure, stuff as many agents into the place as you can, in-world. There's still a certain "thrill" of actually being there, but the reach is far too limited. Audio can reach everybody who wants to participate, no matter where they are, in-world or real-world. I would also suggest a "Town Hall" forum here on the website, where questions would be submitted. If the forum could be set up so that a moderator must approve a post prior to it appearing in the thread, the usual ranting and raving can be kept out, while the actual questions can be posted. Use the in-world Town Hall Questions group as well, for live questions. Using a forum to pre-submit questions means that hopefully some of the really great questions that went unanswered last time will have a better chance of reaching Cory's eyes. It also means that he'll be able to give some thought to the questions, and their underlying issues, and not be forced to give off the cuff responses. My thoughts.

I prefer the audio myself, since I can set the thing up on my land and listen in without dealing with the lag.
Besides, lag isn't the only issue. Every time Phil made an appearance, it brought the griefers out to play. *snickers* Which ironically happened when Phil was trying to explain why they opened the registration system. They banned the griefer and the griefer was right the heck back in! This is also another reason I prefer audio, because it's sooo much harder to grief.
I hope Cory doesn't suffer from this if it's in world, because I would really prefer to hear what Cory has to say. But it would be great to have a Town Hall Forum for this purpose, because it would give the Linden giving the Town Hall a chance to get the feel of what will be asked about.

If the forum could be set up so that a moderator must approve a post prior to it appearing in the thread, the usual ranting and raving can be kept out, while the actual questions can be posted. My only problem with this is I'm a skeptic. What questions are they *not* allowing to go through? The filter method described works great to prevent spam in a forum (as the mod that does that on another forum, I can attest to that) but you've got to ask yourself, do we put up with the griefers and spammers to get all the questions out there, or do we allow LL to pick and choose the questions they wish to answer? Don't get me wrong, I don't think an honest person would do that, however the potential for abuse is there. And I'm normally a "root for LL" type of person, so don't take this as a bash against anyone with the last name Linden, please. A

I agree. There are plenty of issues if not most of the issues available right here on the forums . Plus the fact I think by now they are fully aware of what these issues are and its just a show. In world is ideal, it is what the game is about and that is why they advocate it. However they are also limited by their own problems in that regard and that is performance. I don't know how these things usually go, but based on experience 40 people per mainland sim does not cut it in world and will not cut it for a town hall. Even if it is island or a multitude of islands linked I don't think everyone who would want to attend will be able to go. Even if they were the ability to listen to them all is not even possible.
I would much rather prefer a more formal response and time taken out to post such an official response as time was taken to write the letter to begin with. True the letter does not state all the issues but people had to sign what they could get.
Personally It would be great to have all issues in thread consolidated into the first post of any thread in bullet format so a Linden can easily see all the issues in a thread from looking at the first post. Or at least most of them. However if we have the time to read them and even post to them, so should LL.
I believe most of the issues we have here are not ignored and full well known and read regularly, they are just not replied to. To get involved It would be more community oriented to post official replies on the forums and to open more topics to openly discuss issues instead of hiding from them any longer.
I think the new approach to the community by LL is a great move and am starting to feel a fresh breeze come in and it feels great, I hope it is not interrupted by a fart.
