bottom line as reguards to 1.7 preview
i say scrap it and start over
i see nothing but lots of bugs and problems
the appeaance and build buttons at the bottom are kind of useless
i hae the way you hit the building button and it automatically puts a box on the property and gives you aerial view i could have done that with a right click and get the edit menu which i seldome use
the clothing button at the bottom is nice
the following problems i encountered
appearance which i think they fixed.. was when i hit that button at the bottom of the screen it changed my clothes.
2. Lindens took off Fame or made it unavailable so i know longer have land and am having major problems with joining my land elswhere
so major joining of land parcels
3. This version takes away the holographic kind of measuring tools on the screen when we build that was such a big help.. why is that gone thought a never version is an upgrade not to take away features.
4. had problems with moving my av it would turn but not move but think they kind of fixed that one

but just so many bugs, things added that were not necessary and taking away good options i think this version needs to scraped and reput on the drawing board and rethought out or more thought put into it now that it is up

I do love and appreciate being able to test the new versions out though its cool

This is why they're having the preview out. To find and squash them. I just hope they take the time to actually do so. As the preview certainly isn't bug free yet...

A matter of taste, if both options are available. (At the moment, the 'create' pie menu option disappears when rightclicking an object though. Which is probably not the wisest of choices)

The preview grid is only a small subsection of the main grid. Land can be purchased without any tier costs in several sims. I myself haven't noticed any join issues, but like said before, it's preview and meant to be tested this way.

I haven't noticed this either. Do you have the 'grid' option in the edit window checked?

I would really advise you to fill in the bug reports and tell LL what you encountered. It's probably the best way to avoid any of the grievances you feel to end up in the official release.

Oh.. and although i crashed a lot in preview, found several bugs, weren't too happy with some things. I think that HUD, better sim performance, multi drag/drop, no move on touch event etc. are very useful and valuable new features i'd really like to see in the 1.7 version. As long as this version is stable.

When a sim is marked as unavailable on the map it means its down or crashed, on the normal grid this would be fixed pretty quick, but this is preview and the team is only staffed through working hours so if a sim goes down and stays down there isnt anybody to come and give it a kick until a linden on the test logs in.

Us doing the tests early on will hopefully iron out alot of the issues with sim crashes, but thats why preview is here, to get people using the software to try and find problems and things that break it so they can fix it before it goes onto the main grid.

Asian language Unicode planes are still inadequately supported for keyboard input in 1.7. Thanks. No problems otherwise.

Turning but not moving might also be a connection issue...

As from the mouth of a Linden: "Turning is handled locally, but forward and backwards is us."

I think it's a cache thing, where it loads in 360 degrees and caches, but moving forwards or backwards requires loading new land, prims, ect.

I find this to be true when my connexion drops... I can spin around in a circle but can't actually move, past that position.

that's due to Havok 2 no?? no?!?!

I'd willingly stay in 1.6.12 while they READ the votes and give us what we asked for.
