This happened before actually, but the update seems to have aggravated it, presumably the asset server is being over-taxed by something. It does get VERY annoying, especially when you just want to save a tiny little thing, like an llOwnerSay() to debug something for example.

This is a show-stopper for scripters.
Any JIRA number? |

This is a show-stopper for scripters. Any JIRA number? I noticed this 3.5 hours ago, and it's not any better now than it was then... Posted about it here: /111/64/190574/1.html with screenshots: http://www.daikonforge.com/scriptfail1.png http://www.daikonforge.com/scriptfail2.png I can't get in to Jira... Tried several times, it's too slow and keeps timing out. This is a complete show-stopper for certain. I can't freaking believe that there are not hundreds of reports of this. Are there really so few people experiencing this? I wouldn't have thought so... . _____________________

Sonofabitch!!! I just had it happen AGAIN!!! Not the whole "can't upload script" thing, but the far more serious "Can't upload your script so we are gonna delete the object it's in with no trace" thing.
Screw it. I'm just gonna take some time off, maybe LL will recognize there is a problem sometime within the next day or two. I can't believe they thought this update was ready to roll out. _____________________

I can't get in to Jira... Tried several times, it's too slow and keeps timing out. This is a complete show-stopper for certain. I can't freaking believe that there are not hundreds of reports of this. There are no hundreds of reports because there is no easy way to report. I've give up with JIRA myself. Too slow, a pain to find and link relevant issues, hours lost as a Quality Tester with a difference: the Quality Tester does not pay his company. I just want to play SL now. I don't care anymore to use the in-world bug reporting tool since they will not add to JIRA and will probably be ignored. And there is no Live Help for emergency reports. But this issue is nothing compared to the unability to Take/Take Copy/Delete/Return objects. I wanted to Take my scripted object. Guess what? Ghosted. Graphically here but no properties and INVENTORY GONE with my script. Left the sim, came back again and no more object in-world, not in my inventory, not in my Lost&Found. This is an over-crititical situation, and it calls for an emergency halt. [Edit] forgot: parcels full because those objects counted in Selected/Sat Upon, sandboxes unusable. |

...This is an over-crititical situation, and it calls for an emergency halt... Yes, yes it does. BRING THE GRID DOWN!!!! I totally agree. It's borked well beyond usability, and is a liability for anyone using it. _____________________

This is an over-crititical situation, and it calls for an emergency halt. Agreed. Whereas it's possible to go around and enjoy yourself, this is a critical issue and is going to cause countless knock-on effects for users. Why on earth did they bring the grid back up and not check this properly? |

Excuse me while I indulge in some Broadly Offensive language.
I *really* need to get some updated products put together and get a new vendor network set up. How long are they [expletive deleted] going to [expletive deleted] with the [expletive deleted] asset [expletive deleted] server? It appears that the asset server issues we have had over the past few days may be hardware related. Ya rekkin? *headdesk* Don't get me wrong -- normally I take this sort of thing a bit more calmly, so I'm not in the LINEDNZ R TEH EBIL bus yet. Although I've been eyeing the route schedule. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = {EDIT} It appears that the asset server issues we have had over the past few days may be hardware related. We have re-routed the asset traffic to other servers and everything should be returning to normal. Thank you for your patience while we hunted this bug down. I don't *sniffle* like the new "normal." Can I please have my old normal back where I could edit scripts and save them afterwards. And, I don't know, edit prims and actually *Take* my creations into my inventory instead of leaving them laying about in an indeterminate state of existence? Please LL, for the love of whatever deity you choose, reconsider this new "normal" you've given us. I'm now going to go partake of Stronge Drinke. |
