New separate chat/IM windows?

I noticed this morning that the "near me" tab was missing in the Communicate window. I thought it was a bug, but then I noticed the "chat" button and pressed it. I then got the once-familiar "history" button, and pressed it. Presto! Separate text chat and IM windows.

How did this happen without a viewer update?

I suspect it is because you 'detached' the "Near Me" pane from the Chatterbox. If you do, it acts vaguely like the Chat History used to.

Yes, that seems to be what happened. However it happened, I like it.
