I apologize in advance if this has been covered elsewhere, but I am noticing that since the update I have several objects that I just purchased that come with instruction notecards that I all of a sudden am not allowed to read.
I purchased an AO the other day and was able to open the instruction notecard and click on the section links within without a problem earlier this week. But when I tried it again yesterday (and I think the day before) it tells me I am not allowed to read this note.
Now I've got various components of the AO hovering around my head and the HUD attachment whirling around about 10 feet to the right of me and I have no way of communicating with it because I can't RTFM lol.
All of the components list me as the owner, so I'm pretty confused. The notecards have copy and transfer permissions too, so...

Yep…and can’t embed notecards into notecards either without the same permissions issue.

From: DaQbet Kish Yep…and can’t embed notecards into notecards either without the same permissions issue. Did you notice anything like this before the update?

Nope…not my own notecards that I’ve made.

I distribute my products with basic documentation in one notecard, and extensive information in sub-notecards. It's clear that whoever got the bright idea to keep from littering inventory did it by simply keeping people from getting notecards at all. This clearly wasn't tested. I can't imagine what's happened to the many books previously distributed by people. And I'm almost afraid to go back and look at the famous XYText notecard.

This is the newest in the long list of common SL bugs...well it was the newest but i am sure there are dozens more by now.. the solution to this is to take the object into your inventory and rerez it...this works but like all other bug fixes it only works on mondays with an even number date, in a month with less then 6 letters in the name ....and only if your name is fred, and you are left handed, and have 11 toes.

Hehe yes well I tried re-rezzing several times to no avail, so I must be coming up short on that requirement list : )

We used to put our instruction manuals inside the equipment prims (contents), but we had so many compliants no one could open them, we had to use NC givers seperately. At one time, we had instructions in 6 different languages . Whats more annoying with the permissions things, is logging in one day and finding everything up for sale had reverted to full perms and the prices had all defaulted to 0L$. It was the first time I turned on 'show 0L$ transactions in the transaction history LOL... fortunately, nothing was 'sold' although I'm not so sure ppls weren't able to simple 'take a copy'... oh well it is just a game?
