texture sorting in menu

I've noticed this since the last (maybe last 2?) update(s). When building, if I go into the texture edit pane and try to select a texture, it used to display them for me in date order, which is my preferred sort method in my inventory. Now, it is alphabetical in this view, even though my preferred sort is by date. So what is particularly annoying about this is that as a builder, it is not uncommon for me to upload a bunch of textures to try out, and I want them at the top of the list to that I can easily find them. Now I have to remember what I called them and find them alphabetically. The select texture menu used to respect my inventory settings, and I think that it should be repaired to continue to do that.

yes I dislike this sorting as well. From what I understood the way it was before was a bug. The way it is now is "fixed".

At the top of your inventory, there's a "sort" menu item. You can sort your inventory by date or alphabetically. It seems to me that with reinstall the choice sometimes changes on me and perhaps that's what happened to you.

Jeff: try it from the subset inventory list in the texture pane.

I need to look at the edit history of indra/linden/newview/lltextureview.cpp, it seems.

Ah, I see!

While you're in the neighborhood, would you look into why the inventory doesn't remember what folders were closed when we close the inventory?

When I open the inventory, any folder i ever opened since logging on is open. ACK!

I'll file a bug report for that too.

Cheers

Yep, I have gotten in the habit of every now and again closing all the folders, creating a new inventory window, and closing the ooriginal window. Now when I close the new window it's *that* window's list of open folders that get re-opened.
