Hi,
Following the buzz and chatter generated around SL, I have been convinced by friends to sign-up and come and have a look at the world of SL.
I have spent a day wandering around the place, and have been undeniably impressed with the richness of the universe, the evident creativity of some of its residents.
I subsequently browsed these boards, and have come across a number of threads, including one in the Archive section called ´SL's average IQ decreasing?´.
This thread, and others of a similar ilk, have left me breathless at the intellectual arrogance - verging on mental fascism - of some of the older inhabitants of your virtual universe. These people seem to consider themselves to be some sort of ´Elite´of SL.
I spend much time and energy in the real world ensuring that my life is kept untainted by the prejudice of others, and avoid like the plague people who manifest such ill-conceived feelings of superiority over their fellow human beings. I suppose it is only logical that as a microcosm of the world at large, SL should be populated by similar sorts. What I find disheartening is that the views they express should be given free reign, without apparently any form of moderation intervening to filter this excess.
The thread I quoted had a post where one of these fine types lamented the lack of ´charm and grace´ of the ´plebs´that were the newcomers to SL ... I find it highly ironical that your ´Elite´ should be complaining of others lacking precisely the qualities they show themselves bereft of.

What a bunch of self-serving self-proclaimed "elite" say means two things to the community-at-large: - Diddly
- Squat
So, who cares? Plenty of fare more interesting and nicer folk to deal with, yes?
