Full preview regression needed

As 1.7 preview matures to 1.7.0.42, the need has grown recently for a full test regression.

Already, residents have reported a large number of significant bugs - however the preview has recently reached the point where we need to pass over every feature with gusto.

It is my hope that 1.7 can be ready soon, and that we can surely say that when it hits the main grid, we have covered all the main points!

If you would like to participate, please join us in the preview grid in the Morris sim near the welcome area. There is an array of cubes there with tests in them...

Green Cube = Test hasn't been accepted yet.
Yellow Cube = Test has been accepted but not closed.
Blue Cube = Test has been completed and closed for this regression cycle.

Grab a friend and come on by! This is an opportunity to make a difference.

Since 1.7.0(33) there has been a problem with having shiny enabled with bump draw distance set to zero; this causes all textures with transparent channels not to be rendered and error posted to log (see below).

If this bug hasn't been fixed in 1.7.0(42) it needs to get fixed before it hits the main grid.

Preview testing UPDATE

When we did our update yesterday, I forgot to put out the LSL scripts for the tests. They are now in Morris for those who were asking. Most LSL scripts for the tests should now be there.

If for some reason you still cannot find them, they're in each test in the QA WIKI which is listed in my first posting in this thread.

As of this morning, most of the 1 person tests have been completed, so today I think it would be great if each of you could grab a friend and take some time to try one of the two person tests!

Thanks again for helping to make SL something that surprises me every day.

P.S. We just took 1.7 down for another update. 1.7.0.43 should be up soon!

Monday Update

We're done with the smoke test - and I have taken the liberty of resetting the test cubes in Morris.

It is my hope that we may complete 1 more full regression of the tests at this time.

A *final* regression is what I am hoping for...as one of our next few builds should be a release candidate.

Please help test and get 1.7 onto the main grid!
