deleting a selection of more then 1600-2000 prims will crash the sim EVERY time...

I suppose the anti ghost measures don't scale well and it causes the sim to be disconnected from the grid for too long and there is an auto reboot. (more then 15-20 seconds?)

anyway...

I like the anti ghost measures on the small scale... but this will make working with high prim projects extremely impratical.

Besides that... it should not be *this* easy to crash a sim...

Rezing and then selecting that many objects doesn't sound particularly "easy" to me... :)

But is it actually crashing, or just refusing to talk to clients for a few minutes while it processes the request?

You can select an arbitrary number of prims with drag-select (something that has been made even easier with 1.6)
You can store an arbitrary number of objects/prims as a single inventory "object" by selecting them as described above, and using Take.
You can later rez them all at once by dragging them out of the inventory as normal.
What's the big difficulty here?
Hmm, shouldn't you be able to take a backup of an entire sim like this, at least in theory, and ignoring camera angle / performance constraints?

Just call it the 'monde bug' for short. Yeah, I actually would run into this. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try to limit my deletes to under 1,000 at a time.
