hi just wondering if anyone else has had this issue of a customer buying (boots in my case) from me but recieving another creators boots? I've also had items appearing in my inventory I never bought this seems a pretty significant glitch if its happening frequently
we have auto return on and no evidence of invisible boxes etc

Are you using payment scripts in your vendors? Recently new basic avatars have been added to your Library. Is that what you mean?

Another thing, if you have a store somebody can be putting a prim in front of your displays that is invisable and then someone would pay them and recieve their product. Always put autoreturn on in a store.

Creator for clothing is often wrong. Are you sure the ones in your inventory list you as the creator? If so, then it's either something like mentioned above (using a vendor that allows drop -- bad idea!) or else an SL bug.

we stopped using vendors because of problems with mods changing amongst other things, I'm the creator of the boots I'm selling plus we have auto return on and I've come across the invisible prim thing before so checked for that anyway even with auto return. We use a simple prim box set to give the buyer the contents in a folder .The customer bought my boots but recieved another creators. I've had odd instances of items appearing in my inventory I definitely did not purchase usually during problem periods. ty for the responses

I still use the basic box with the Buy option for my vendors. It is simple and they always seem to work great. So far I have never had any failed transactions.
Within the box (Contents tab) or before you put the items in, you can set the permissions (like Mod/Copy/Trans). You can also set permissions on the vendorbox itself. I prefer to do it inside the vendorbox, so I am sure it's ok.
There is a differences in functionality with the permissions set in the inventory and with that after you rezz an object. The knowledgebase holds an article about that.
I was wondering if maybe the permissions got messed up somehow causing you failed transactions? Scripted vendors can cause that also, ofcourse. Depends on the script and how good it is.

Unless I'm mistaken the permisions you set in the content tab and permisions you set in the inventory act the same, that is they don't get updated untill the new owner rezzes the item (this only applies to prims) whereas the permisions you set when the object is rezzed gets updated right away. Should check the knowledgebase to be sure, because this is the information is I remember it. Another trap is adding objects with different permissions in the box then the permisions of the box itself, when the new owner buys the box the permisions of the box apply untill the rez the box, so you can have nocopy trans objects in a box and accedently set the box to copy notrans, this means the new onwer has a box he can rez as many times as he wants but not transfer but the items he gets out of the box he can't copy but can transfer, in effect making the items copy trans.
