Works really well for me

I'm feeling blessed that the new version 1.15 is working well for me. It's smoother and I can actually teleport places now.
Just so people know it isn't all bad news.

Yes well believe it or not there are 30k of people on the grid who aren't posting "SL is down", "I can't login", "TP is down", on the forums

SL is still running ok for me 2 and I've even downgradded from a 7600 to 6600 video card last night when mine fried due to a 16hour session on SL running fine, I had a problem with my sim which appears to have been fixed within hours of reporting it.

I can still log 2 alts in at once too. And I'm doing all this from Australia.

So yes some are having problems but it pays to have a really good hard look at your ISP, you can ring them and they will tell you it's all good, but it's not till you change or change plans that suddenly things improve. You are probably getting what you pay for with many half price and free ADSL plans I suspect. Only time I had problems like this was when I was on diallup or my ADSL plan throttled my speed when I hit my download limit. And many ISP's throttle, do you think they lay enough cable and infrastructure for peak usage times when everyone is on the internet playing WoW & Coh, Ebay, Pfft, only time you get to run at full ADSL speed is off peak. Just consider you ADSL probably has a much bigger crap load of people sharing your lines playing WoW, Halo, & Doom as well.

I'm tempted to install SL on my old system sitting on the floor under the new for 6 months and see how it goes to prove my computer speed is relevant or not.

I agree with you that it was like that at the time you wrote your post, but before it wasn't the case. Maybe you check the time of the post and compare it with the blog.



lol. I don't know what ISP you use in Australia, but do you thing we are dorks with an analog modem and don't know when the connection from our ISP is broken?

Some people with problems probably are "dorks" as far as the technical side of a computer goes, I myself don't now a lot on how my modem/ADSL thing works, but I do know a major improvement when I see one so I'm probably a dork too with SL that works well regardless.
Someone else was telling me how I'm getting ripped off as his ISP provides the same service for only half the price and only goes down a couple of times a month, my reply was simply "your ADSL goes down?"
SL relies on a lot of other peoples hardware to run and pushes some of that pretty hard compared to FPS's and sending emails.

other than some issues with the group and friends list its been as fine as SL tends to get

Oh heavens no, I don't work for LL. Where did you get that idea? I'm actually in film. And if you did look at my history you would see that I have had dismal luck with LL in getting locked out. I was just tired of feeling angry and wanted to be happy about being on again.

Calliope, I don't know where you are getting this since most of my posts have been pretty frustrated since I was getting locked out of SL with the "Second Life can't be accessed from this computer" glitch.

I was paying $125 tier but sold off all my land because of LL's customer service; but when 1.15 worked for me, I was happy about it. I want SL to work and when it does, I'm happy about this.

And I wish the same for you, that the viewer works and you get on SL and do what makes you happy.

I haven't had any problems with the latest viewer.. other then the friends list at first.. but that seems to have been corrected. I was having a hella time with tp's with the older viewer.. Now i haven't had one fail .. so yay for that lol.. Building tools were acting a bit goofy yeaterday.. Nothing major.. just things would snap back occasionally.. But that was during peak time.. I am pretty happy with it.. ohh.. still the empty trash bug is there .. Well.. My trash had about 500 items in it and when i emptied it I crashed .. Thats an existing bug though.. All in all it seems to be working ok ...
