Goodness! That's breathtaking... EXCEPT for my preference for the amber glow of the current SL's splash screen. I lurve watching sunrises and sunsets in Second Life and I don't get that kind of warmth looking at the newbuild's one.

More warmth would also help contrast visually -- GREEN set on ORANGE instead of greenygreen. :)

Where's all the clubs, white cubes of death, midair abandoned vehicles spewing ungodly amounts of particles, etc....

That's SL? That's not SL! That's SL's MOON! :)

The next frontier....

Now who can figure out where that shot was taken (the objects aren't there), and what sims are in the distance?

Hmm...I like both ...your right Torely, I really do like the nice sunset on the current startup page. I like the fact that you can see more of the nice terrain on this one...Looks like some abandoned cold planet though...

At first glance I'm like "Wow!" ....and the more I look at it its ...bleh. Lol okay I like the sunset better :p

it's pretty but kinda boring if you ask me.

I want the ability to use my own shots as a splash screen!

After all, I see the splash screen about once every 5 minutes...

Yeah, I agree with Kris. Might have sentimental value, but I don't think ..

Wow! Gotta play this game.

I guess that is a screenshot from the new rendering engine. I wonder if it really is? They could have just built a one-off client without the draw distance limitation or something.

I think it was taken from somewhere around Stinson and looking at the mountain range at Tethys.

Lets all go turn off objects and avatars, and increase draw distance to 4000 until we find it.
