Unsung heroine but I'll sing her praises... CTRL-ALT-D brings up yer DEBUG menu and then press CTRL-SHIFT-9 or just select FAST TIMERS from it. WOWZA. If you've never seen the Fast Timers before, this still looks awesome. I've likened it to something almost Star Trek LCARSish in the past, and it's a gross improvement over 1.6's more flat, personalityless display. Even if you don't know what all the numbers mean, you can just watch the pretty lights go by. Are there better guides on how to read this kitty? I know the very top colored bar is an average that balances out over time.

Yes very cool, heres another bit to it, click on it while its scrolling and it will pause then move your mouse across one of the bars, notice it highlight one of the various functions down the side, this will tell you how many ms is being spent on what, you can also move your mouse up and down the colored boxes/functions to display them on the timers, if you click them you will remove them from the timer display and then click back in the display to scroll without that fasttimer to help narrow down problems.

Good to know where all of the UI effort is going at least. Hey, new user, check out this spiffy debug interface that artistically shows you why the game isn't working. Oooh, blinky!

Oooh, blinky! That or the fact that the extra functionality in debug helped actually debug a problem with image decode and image creategl, which was fixed in 1.7.2

Glad ya think so Davan... it's what I live for. That's just the way I experience my life, and Second Life! Nathan, that's really cool. I like clicking on a bar and watching it throb and pulse. These bars are easier to read, my feeling is with all the colors and dynamics, it makes troubleshooting more fun and a little less painful for those who are ghastly afraid of, whelp, most diagnostic displays.

I hate the rounded corners on things such as bar graphs, I don't like it anywhere.
Was there any functional change or just rounding the corners and using garish colors?
I hate rounded buttons on scroll bars, rounded corners on progress bars, etc.
I don't find this display easy to read, although it may just be that there is no really good way to display so much information at one time.
