This seems to be the main JIRA issue for this: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-85
You might be interested in the scripted friends list advertised in my signature. It's not a fix, but it's gotten great reviews and is free.
SVC-85 was for when the in-world version of the friends list was busted back in March.
For the current round of the web-page version of the friends list being down, WEB-340 seems to be the issue. If you want LL to know that you want this fixed, go to http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-340 and vote to get it fixed!
If you don't know how to vote, do this:
- go to this web page: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-340
- on the left, look for the text that says "If you were logged in you would be able to see more operations"
- click where it says "logged in"
- enter your SL user name and password
- you'll get taken back to the WEB-340 page
- look for the text on the left that says "You have not voted for this issue. Vote for it if you wish it to be fixed"
- click where it says "Vote for it"
- that's it
You can also add comments but note that sarcastic remarks about LLs definition of "temporary" has kinda been done to death.
