New preview testing utility

I would ask all to go to Morris in the Preview 1.7 grid and try out the new Test-o-Matic...(currently named 'HUD' but getting a rename in about an hour)....

It is a HUD that runs through the test steps. The first version released to the public, it is an alpha that is still being developed.

Upcoming changes:

Better prompting of the steps
Easier test loading
Other UI upgrades (Trying to pull some of the functionality out of llDialog and into the HUD)
- A help button will be added very soon
- Pause button
- Quit button
- Speed buttons to adjust rate at which test runs
- Scroll buttons for use during test selection
- Graphical state indicator

Proposed update to make BETA:

Team testing function - Primary tester looks for other testers who are in 'discoverable' mode, for tests with more than 1 tester. Currently the only change in 1 vs. multiple testers is use of llSay and llOwnerSay

Any feedback, bugs in the test-o-matic, etc, are gladly accepted!

Thanks V, glad to see this post. I haven't been able to do any structured testing of 1.7 simply because I couldn't figure out how or where we were supposed to do it.

(Mind you, I did manage to find the odd bug just mucking about.)

Just a thought...could you be a bit more specific than just 'Morris?'

Oh, and the way you use the thing is:
1. click on each of the two green boxes and accept the objects offered.
2. open Inventory; right click on the HUD object; select Wear.
3. the HUD display should now appear on the upper left of the screen; click on it to begin, and follow the prompts.

Note: the script has an infinite loop bug. You can't Quit by clicking the Quit button.

O very cool... and that's a good point about the Classifieds, handy for looking stuff up! Make use of the SL tools to make SL better—that's grand!

Fabulous testing tool, Vektor. It's like having a live voiceover telling you what to do next. With a little polishing, this tool could turn just about anyone into a tester. More trained monkeys is never a bad thing.
