Ops has resolved this issue!

It turned out to be a hardware related problem. There was a hard disk in a RAID that failed and it had to be replaced.

If these guys even knew what RAID is, they'd be mirroring, then if a drive went bad, IT WOULDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO GRID FUNCTIONALITY.
Come on LL, we've called your bullshit, listened to every excuse in the book that says 'it's not your fault', and I'm sure I'm not the only one that's hit the downgrade button on their account lately. You've lost. Your investors are in dissent, you'll never gain new ones, your customer base would lynch you on sight. When are you ever going to learn that most of us know more about the technical side of things than you? You can't hide from us LL, every word you utter has been shoved back down your throats time and time again. It's time for you to finally pull the plug on this thing and call Smedley. I'm sure SOE could use more 'talented' people such as yourselves to help ruin their rep.

Actually it depends on the type of raid whether resilience is in place. Also its worth noting that its not always hot swappable.

RAID 0, 1 for example are about performance and do NOT offer any resilience.
