Age Verification Doesn't Prevent Adult-to-Adult Crime

I am thoroughly confused, so I continue to ask annoying questions, hoping I'll finally get some insight as to why I ought to submit my private identity to Linden for permission to view/coexist with disturbing pornographic/violent content, neither of which interest me in any virtual sense...

Clarification Point 1: If it's age verification, what is the new and compelling evidence of need for higher (than we've experienced since October 2006, when I was "born" security against minors invading the adult SL grid? What IS the average monthly pre-adult load on the adult grid, and adult load on the teen grid?

Clarification Point 2: If it's all the negative attention that casinoes, ageplay and child pornography networks on the SL grid have attracted, how does age verification in any way prevent crimes perpetrated between consenting adults?

"Because they say the can", and perhaps that is true...and "because they are going to", even more likely to be true...these are statements of approximate fact...but they do not represent any facts that allow intelligent people to make reasonably informed decisions, and if we are the ones surrendering info, or not, we DO have the right to make reasonably informed decisions!

Can anyone help me?

Uhm..if both parties are consenting, how is a crime being committed? If I consent to give you $100L I can't accuse you of ripping me off.

The point is, all of the "criminals" are adults....sure the victims of the child porn ring are kids, and I have no good wishes for the perpetrators of that....but not one of those children will ever be protected by age verification of SL accounts! The materials were passed adult-to-adult via SL...the ageplay case 50-something and 27 year old....the casinoes...no kids being sweat-ed as dealers...all adults...what is it for?

I need Linden answers....because this smells more and more like classic diversionary propoganda tactics perfected decades ago in another part of the world...I won't name countries, groups or individuals...but you need not look any further than 1930's Europe to see parallels here...and this time, please, please, please,Linden Lab...please convince me that we're not just scapegoating the evil adult-SL-grid invading minors to avoid talking about the broken grid, which attracted some very unwelcome attention from the technology media and your own board of directors... and not to deflect media attention from illegal casinoes, illegal child porn rings, and controversial ageroleplay, which it turns out may be illegal in countries your server grid supports.

Bottom line SL is turning into carebear land. In time it will be in the same lines as the childs MMO Toon Town.
