Loooooooong freezes since last update...

Since the last update I have been getting very very long (but temporary) freezes in SL. I have tried this on 3 of my computers and 2 of these computers are very powerful. It occurs about every 10 to 20 minutes and the "freeze" lasts for about 10 to 30 seconds. This is very annoying.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm glad you posted. Me too...looooonng scary freezes.

I reduced my rez distance and reduced my graphics quality and that seemed to help.

Glad it is not just me... I'll experiment with that possible fix but we shouldn't have to lower the quality of our game settings just so we can run the "updates". One of these computers has quad graphics cards.. it should not be freezing, and never had any problems like this before.

youre not alone, every time i log on theres a loong slow freeze, reminded me of fetching inventory, but now it happens every time i log -__-

Mines not the same i guess, only when i log on it happens, its like trying to fetch from cache or something to fast and just halts the entire rendering.

Well what is odd is how intermittent it is... The really good computer runs SL between 80 and 150 fps depending on the complexity and the environment. So it is normally very smooth with fps faster than the physics engine (45). So clearly something suddenly goes wrong as without warning it will drop from 100 fps to 0 fps for about 20 seconds. The debug window doesn't even display 0 fps... as the entire program totally freezes. I can still go and run other programs while SL is frozen just fine. No other programs freeze and it has frozen on 4 computers that I have tested it on. It does this at least once per hour but usually a little more often than that. Interesting that it appears to be hitting a lot of people. I wonder if LL knows about this. It makes it especially hard if you are playing (or developing) action games inside of the SL platform. As one added note: Diagnostic software shows the computer is perfectly fine when SL is frozen.

This needs a fix. Its happening every 10-15 minutes with my PC. Something in the patch is causing it. Also I could run 3 clients on my PC before this.
