Hi folks, The QA department at Linden Lab is opening up a large portion of our tests for Resident review and Resident updates. If you're interested in helping with our Preview releases, and making Second Life even better, go ahead and give it a try! The Preview grid will be opening up again soon, and to make our Preview cycle more effective, it is hoped that those who are interested will take the time to update and improve old tests, and take the initiative to create some tests of their own that may be integrated into the test suites. There is a new format for tests, which is demonstrated on the main page for this project. That main page is located here: https://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Quality+AssuranceLet's see what we can make happen! All our best, The Linden Lab QA Team P.S. Feedback regarding test case revision, updates, new tests, ideas, etc, would be great to have in this thread! As well, information on new features, as well as some tests for them, will be posted to the above mentioned wiki soon.

michi, it is hoped that folks would go at it soon....the Preview grid is being prepped and the test scripts are one of the big, final things that need updating. So far there has been little action there, despite almost 400 folks viewing this thread. I'll be working on them from Maine this weekend, as well, when I get a chance. I'll geek out and guess that at 5 minutes of editing each (at 400 views), that would be 33 hours worth of test updates. I'd wager that the updates would not only probably be done, but that given those manpower hours, there would be a lot of cool new tests too... All it takes is a little time to make a big difference! Once again, thank you all. Vek. P.S. If you decide to update a test, please add notes to the status field next to the test on this page: https://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=QA+Test+Scripts

Why don't you just use XML instead of some weirdo text format with square brackets?

;0 I assume it's because it's a familiar format to QA testers, and is simple to be interpreted by LSL? I dunno ;0 Vektor?

Im slowly getting some of these updated its taking abit longer than veks 5 mins lol but anyway.
I think a good idea for a test is teleport, and the various ways you can initiate them, in the last preview, a build was pulled because you couldnt double click on the map and port, but it could also include, recieving and sending requests via profiles, friends lists

I stareted on one but I've been swamped with RL stuff ;0 If you think of a test that you think could be useful please do add it I'm going to try and get back to the tests as well, but feel free to continue anything where I left off

The XML comment would have been much better without the part about 'wierdo text format', but point taken.
Tests are mostly updated, thanks to those have been in there, doing such a great job of helping!

I never did manage to get round to writing an actual teleport test itself, although working on most of the other tests, i added the elements i wanted to test to those instead for now, mostly the the preview smoke and friends list test, tests clicking the map and selecting from the lists as well as offering from the friends lists.
I've finished 3 more,
Looking at the list i can clean up the rest that need language etc and work on writing parcelobjectsowners, as far as the new ones
Preferences, not sure how to write that for a client i dont know what changes have been made there
Local light, I dont have much knowledge in that area
buildacceptance, contents and testscriptquicktest are rather tricky
