Correct me if this is wrong; I seem to remember that in 1.6, "Allow anyone to copy" could be checked altho objects weren't ACTUALLY free to copy unless everything inside had unrestricted permissions. That was a bummer, and really dampened distro of great freebie schtuff. You often had to set things to buy for L$0... which could be a bit confusing.

But now, come 1.7, as long as you can give something out in the first place...... it looks like "Allow anyone to copy" now means "Allow anyone to copy"—just like that!

A bug I can find to this, and I reported this in Preview, is that "Allow anyone to copy" and "For sale" can be checked at the same time. Altho if you check them in that order, the first option will go unchecked, but not vice-versa. (Which is oddish.)

I didn't see this either in the Release Notes.

It's a nice touch.

DARN! :(

Looks like whatever happened, this is no longer a feature... I haven't been able to Take Copy to schtuff without full perms anymore.

Did anyone notice the same thing I did in my Original Post over a week ago?

I tested with Francis Chung and we were able to do it reliably before the behavior changed back to what it was in 1.6.x. :( :(

I may file a bug report about this; this was really handy for distro'ing freebies.

Thanxies in advance!
