Remove the "bit.ly" links on login

Using a URL compactor service such as bit.ly is a poor security practice because it obscures the site and path that the user will be redirected to, preventing the user and the user's webbrowser from being able to verify a source before potentially malicious data is accessed.

LL should put the real URL for people to see before they click, instead of exposing users to a needless security risk and encouraging risky behaviour.

You are saying its not a security risk to use a URL compactor service? Doesn't make any difference to me anyway. I wouldn't know how to tell a good link from a bad link when I see it.

You're missing the point. What may tell you that http://shortlink.com/12345 is directing to http://childporn.com? In some countries, like Germany, is clicking such a reason now for some danger.......

If Linden Labs were to put a link to some NSFW site on the login screen, whether they used a redirector or not would be the least of our worries.
