Greetings Y'all! :D

I bought few textures from shop in SL. I didn't realized that they are NO copy nor mod can be deadly DANGEROUS. But I have no idea if they are part of bug OR not.

Because at the sandbox, I created a box, large enough to see. I place a new texture #1 on it to look, I like it, changed another texture #2, etc... MMM which texture I want to use, decided to go back on texture #1 but... it GONE! I looked everywhere in my inventory.. GONE, even texture #2. GONE! and so on.. I spend my linden dollars on them FOR nothing! they acted like "ONE USE" *bam* they vanished. None are found in "lost & Found" nor in the trash at all. They just disappeared. I did buy like 4 textures. They all gone!

Sadly,

No copy textures are useless, don't buy them - you can't get them back.

No Copy textures go INTO the prim you use them on to prevent you from using them in other objects. Look inside the "contents" tab of whatever you used them on and they should be in there.

issue with texture

That's annoying. An even weirder glitch with the textures.. If you put a full perm texture inside something, set the texture to that texture, then delete the texture out, your prim will go back to plywood..

Textures have to have full permissions to be worth anything at all. It amazes me that anyone in SL thinks they are doing anything honest by selling crippled textures. The permissions system in SL makes it virtually impossible to use textures that are not full-permissions.

I can think of one, and only one, valid reason for selling a 'no transfer' texture, if it still is +Copy, +Modify. That is as an accessory for an existing building project, so the owner of the house can make additional matching parts solely for their own personal use. Like being able to make a few extra walkways or fences, and have them exactly match the rest of the build.

Always demand that textures have full permissions. Most reputable texture artists understand the limitations that crippled textures present, and they will not sell you textures with restricted permissions.

Re-hi, Guys!

Forgive me for being such newbie! Me only about 3 months old and learning! *grin* Ahhh! Textures were IN the prim (darn annoying). Thank you for pointing it out, Sharilar!

No copy/no mod/No transfer is such comedy, really. I mean... IF they don't want them to be copy, no mod or/and no transfer that makes me see that "DO NOT SHARE" in my head, SO they shouldn't sell them in their shop at the very first place! Because textures are NOT a gallery. Unless if you want them to show as a texture galleries, then don't put them in the vendor machine.

Anyway, I quit buying the textures in SL no matter what (cuz some textures aren't theirs that they claimed they are theirs, etc.. I've seen that, mostly. Pretty phony), rather to grab freebie textures in sl or upload my own textures would be good enough!

Less hassle, don't you think? Yeah! :D

big hugs,
Xia
