With all this recent rash of age verification nonsense from the Lindens they are failing us, the customers that pay for there service in myriad ways!! Lately there has been a HUGE rash of morons and idiots griefing people with this stupid Revenge spammer that sends out tons of textures labeled "Technical Difficulty". Where is the support and the Lindens to actually do something on the grid itself to prevent this??
If these Lindens want to do something to actually make the residents happy then they should actually add a way into the viewers to refuse ALL inventory transactions, make it so only those on your friends list can send items or even add a system to where you have to approve anyone or anything trying to send you anything. These griefing attacks are really getting to be annoying and yet the Lindens sit there and once again do nothing to as usual.
We all know that coding a game like this is not an easy task and yet all we ever hear is them talking about adding new things and not fixing any of the existing issues that people complain about over and over. All complaints fall on deaf ears and now they have removed more and more ways to get any kind of ingame help. They direct you to the stupid knowledge base like its the holy grail and yet its ancient and hasnt been updated in forever.
We as a whole have accepted and lived with them redoing the friends list which didnt need any updating, group IMs and notices that seldom work right, teleporting issues, attachments that usually migrate to your rear if you are able to port, and especially the lag in almost every sim that gives to where you can barely even move. They claim its growing pains and yet they seem to not be doing anything to fix this, yet they are adding voice into SL which will just increase the lag load to even more unacceptable levels, and release updates constantly that receive if we are lucky a week on the beta grid which is so small that it can not be realistically tested anyway.
It would actually be nice for once for the Lindens to address the major issues in the game and quit adding glitter and spackle on top of the already flawed coding, this is just making the game even more unplayable. While new content is nice and all, I personally and I know many others would actually love to see major work done on the areas in SL that need the work the most and just leave all the fancy gadgets for when the grid is actually stable and running smooth!! There are so many complaints and bugs already noted and in major need of repair that we would rather have those worked on and just leave off with the additions and upgrades. If the hardware is to blame then upgrade it, they are making more than enough money off tier fees and subscriptions to pay for those.
And most of all, I think we as a whole deserve alot more feedback from the Lindens as a whole. When there are grid issues, then get the blog updated as soon as they are noticed and not 3 or 4 hours later and definitely quit putting up blogs that are locked so no one can comment, because almost all blogs entries lately have been locked or they get locked within an hour or two of the posting. All this leads most of us to believe is that the Lindens no longer care what any of us have to say. No company has ever survived that treats there customers like they are meaningless, and yet the Lindens have started to head that way. It has become them telling us they are doing this or that and if we don't like, well you can quit. I foresee that if they continue this trend that SL is going to die and soon will be nothing but a bunch of free accounts running around naked cybering. In other words, nothing but a 3D chat world.
I know that there are alot of groups out there fighting to help improve SL as a whole and yet the Lindens seem unwilling to listen or even pretend that they care! Starting to seem like they are trying to chase people away from SL, which if they are truly interested in making this world grow and be successful is the opposite direction from where they need to be going. So we need to unite and let them know that we want changes for the better not fancy little gadgets, after all SL is not only their world, it is the world of everyone whos plays here, from the camper to the content creators, all of US are who shape SL not the Lindens, and without US, there would not be an SL. And it is time the Lindens realized this and wake up! There are a great many great ideas for improvements out there but ordinary residents, the people they made this world for and we need to start making them realize this. So wake up Lindens and listen!
